This branch helps everyone learn body awareness. These corrections involve the meridians, acupuncture points, and the massage or holding of specific points, which can energize, shift the body towards homeostasis, and provide emotional relief.
The method's founder is Dr. John Thie, who, following Dr. George Goodheart, developed this system and made it accessible even to those who are not chiropractors.
The method is called Touch For Health (TFH) – it was made available to anyone in 1973 when he wrote a book about it.
The central idea is to restore the body's natural energy flow. After the treatment, physical and mental pain decreases, tension is reduced, and posture improves. TFH assesses the condition of the 12+2 meridians through the testing of 42 muscles. Its main corrective tools include: NL zones, NV points, acupressure points, emotional stress-relief points, color and sound balance, gait testing, Tibetan energy figure eights, and reactive muscles. It resolves blocks in the body by balancing energy and activates the body's self-healing mechanisms. By testing the muscles, we can assess the energy state of the entire body, including energy blockages and disturbances. Treating problematic areas can restore energetic balance. This method combines elements of chiropractic, osteopathy, and traditional Chinese medicine.
